Melissa Mamukic – colour me KWIRKY
The words “colour” and “kwirky” are good words to describe Melissa, both as a person and an artist. Melissa loves to use colour and is known for her signature simple yet kwirky style. Melissa’s goal is to create colourful & kwirky artworks that everyone can enjoy. Melissa started painting in her teenage years. However, life took her in another direction, as a mum to her beautiful daughter, Taylor. Twenty years later, she returned to art and Colour me KWIRKY was born from Melissa’s desire to share her works. Although Melissa had lessons in her early years, she is a largely self-taught artist, with a style that is constantly developing. She is excited to learn something, every time she creates a new piece. She expresses herself through her art and loves to explore the use of shapes & styles, as well as colour. While Melissa loves spending time with her daughter, a walk with her dog, a wine in the evening and laughter with friends, she loves art … in all its forms. She may paint an animal character one day, some still life the next day and a portrait piece after that … they are all kwirky and she loves them all. Melissa loves to make people smile, so if selling her artworks makes someone happy, then she is happy … simple!
June & July Exhibition
Amanda Brooks
Amanda’s unique work reflects the contemporary, casual and colour filled lifestyle of the picturesque Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Born and raised in South Africa, Amanda developed a love for art as far back as she remembers. Inspired by light, movement, surprising colour combinations, and textures, her goal is to infuse these elements and form abstract, impression style compositions. No matter the subject, she strives to portray a balance of realism combined with the loose painterly abstraction, causing one to compliment the other. Amanda’s work on large canvases are vibrant and textured using a combination of acrylics, ink washes, and oils creating layer upon layer. From her whimsical birds and animals, abstract florals ocean pools, and Australian landscapes to her composition of beautiful bowls, fruit, and kitchen finery, Amanda’s work captures light to form in a breathtaking manner.

Double Bridges Exhibition
This photographic exhibition showcases the historic bridges crossing the Kandanga Creek at the entrance to the Kandanga Bowls Club.
The Mary Vallely heritage Rail Line Bridge crosses over the Kandanga Amamoor Road Bridge which traverses over Kandanga Creek.
It is an interesting configuration of structures, angles and materials.
Many of the images study the lines and angels along with the natural ageing and growth of algae on the timbers.
Take a trip down memory lane and explore the historic railway bridge that the dining room is named after.
Photographic images are reproduced on stretched canvas and are for sale.
